It’s here!
The ABC Layout Guide is finally here!
This post has a little more info and the link to download the PDF guide.
This - like all my other layout guides - is free. It does NOT include the animal patterns.
That way you can use whatever animals you like, including whatever patterns you already have.
For example - I used Ginny Giraffe for G, but you could use Galen Gorilla, Gracie Goat, Grady Gazelle, Grayson Grouse, Greer Goldfish, or Griffith Groundhog.
Fill in any gaps here - and remember that all individual block patterns are always Buy 4 Get the 5th Free. (No code needed. That discount is always automatic.)
The layout guide DOES include ABC templates to fit that 4-inch border. If you decide you want larger letters (or capital letters, or numbers) there’s a free ABC pattern sized to fit a 5-inch tall space here. And there’s a small ABC pattern for hand-embroidery here.
I can’t wait to see the ABC quilts you all make! 🥰
Well - finally finishing the alphabet was a HUGE deal for me! Next up are some blocks for a Lunar Zodiac quilt. I thought I’d be able to finish this in time for Lunar New Year, but it’s REALLY early this year. 🙁 January 29! I already have patterns for all the animals needed, but they aren’t all updated or pulled out as single block patterns yet.
I’m starting with Darius Dragon, who needs to be formatted for SVG and also needs the templates to be tweaked for light box assembly.
After that, I need to design a new dog pattern.
What?!?!
Between the Lovable Mutts, Playful Puppies, and More Playful Puppies, I have a kajillion dog patterns. But the only ones formatted as individual blocks are Fluffy the Puppy and Sam the Shaggy Dog - and neither of them are just plain old dogs. You know what I mean?
So. . .
Here are two sketches I’ve been noodling with. . .
The winner will be included in the Lunar Zodiac bundle and also the Pets bundle. And it’ll also be able to be added to any of your other dog quilts.
(Really, you can’t have too many dog patterns. Right?)
Here’s your weekly dose of awesomeness from the Shiny Happy People group!
Look at the beautiful quilt that Andrea made!
This is her second time making a quilt with the Cuddly Cats pattern. The first time was to give it away, but she loved it so much that she made a second one for herself.
I love that!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more wonderfulness people are making with my patterns—and to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. It’s my favorite place on the internet.
In an effort to make this newsletter short enough to go through most email providers without getting chopped off, I’ve broken out some favorite pieces to give them their own days.
Wednesday is for inspiration - favorite artists, books, recipes, and more. In last week’s Five Happy Things - Favorite Leafy Greens, you all were most interested in this recipe. Interesting! The one with the fewest greens. . . 😂
Friday is for oldies but goodies from the archives. Last week you all gave this post the most love, with more than three times as many clicks as the next most popular post. No surprise there! ‘Tis the season for decluttering, and it’s one of my most popular posts ever.
And last Monday, most of you decided to get some more info about these amazing NICU quilts made by a reader. Nice!
You can always change which newsletters you receive by clicking this link. In the Notifications section, choose which mailings you do and don’t want. Easy peasy!
I hope you have a fabulous week!
Best,
Wendi

The triangle headed dog has so much more personality than block head! IMHO of course. ggg
the alpha layout is awesome, thanks !
