New!
Well, newly updated. 😁 I changed the curve of the dragon’s horns and added SVG files for use with electric cutting machines, as well as new formatting and an additional video for use with a light box.
(If you liked the horns curving the other way - just swap left for right when you assemble your block. Easy peasy!)
The new dragon pattern is free for all paid newsletter subscribers. Paid or free, keep scrolling until you get the the section called The Download. That’s where you’ll find the links you need to get it. 🥰
I’ve been working on a new bundle for all the animals in the Lunar Zodiac, but I won’t be able to finish in time for the Lunar New Year on January 29. 🙁
Here are all the zodiac animals with totally updated patterns.
If you’re looking to pull together your own blocks without waiting for the bundle, the Rabbit pattern is also already updated (I just ran out of printer ink before I could get a sample made in this color palette.)
There’s a new solo Dog pattern coming next week. (You all voted on which dog that would be here.) But you could use any of the dogs in the Lovable Mutts, Playful Puppies, or More Playful Puppies patterns.
Russell Rat is available as a solo pattern, but it hasn’t been updated with SVG files yet. Right now the only Sheep and Rooster patterns I have are part part of the Noisy Farm pattern.
Once I finish the new dog, I’ll have just one block left in a Pets bundle I’ve been building. It’ll have a dog, cat, cockatiel, hamster, ferret, bunny, iguana, goldfish, frog, and. . .
I can’t wait to see what you choose!
Here’s your weekly dose of awesomeness from the Shiny Happy People group!
Look at the beautiful quilt that Ann made for a friend’s first grandbaby! She used the Woodland Critters pattern, and I love her fabric choices!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more wonderfulness people are making with my patterns—and to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. It’s my favorite place on the internet.
In an effort to make this newsletter short enough to go through most email providers without getting chopped off, I’ve broken out some favorite pieces to give them their own days.
Wednesday is for inspiration - favorite artists, books, recipes, and more. In last week’s Five Happy Things - Books Perfect for Winter, you all were most interested in this book. There were also some great suggestions in the comments! (There are ALWAYS great suggestions in the comments when we talk about books.)
Friday is for oldies but goodies from the archives. Last week the most popular post was a tie between this one and this one.
And last Monday, the most popular link was this one to get the new free ABC quilt layout guide.
You can always change which newsletters you receive by clicking this link. In the Notifications section, choose which mailings you do and don’t want. Easy peasy!
As I mentioned above, the download this week is the newly updated Dragon pattern.
If you don’t want to pay for Everything Under the Sun access ($5 per month or $50 per year), you can simply purchase the pattern here. Easy peasy! 🥰 Have fun with it!
That’s the end of the newsletter for free subscribers. Thanks so much for reading - and I hope you have a fabulous week!
