Glad you and your family enjoyed being fans at Malice! So many fans and authors to meet, new books to buy, and great panels about writing. Your mystery favorites are mine. Excited to see another favorite author, Jacqueline Winspeare, at Malice 38. Your fan, Beth Schmelzer
I just fused a HUGE stack of sample blocks. That means I have DAYS of outline stitching in front of me, which means I have DAYS of Mrs. Pollifax to enjoy. I'm re-listening to the entire series - but only when I sew. :-) I'm on Mrs. Pollifax on the China Station right now. I'm not usually an audiobook listener, but I've really been enjoying these.
Poirot is my absolute favourite! I've read all of the books and watched every episode of the series. He is just so charming! I'm going to try Mrs. Pollifax, whom I've heard of but never read. I've also read the Spenser books and loved the series with Robert Urich. Thank you for the recommendations!
I absolutely loved her! I'm off to pick up the next books in the series from my local library. Thank you so much for your recommendation. Mrs. Pollifax and I are the same age, too. I'm not quite as adventurous though.
Hi Wendy. I don't usually read mysteries but you make them sound so darn good. I have purchased the Mrs Pollifax book and will give it a try. Really enjoy your Five Happy Things emails. Have a wonderful month. Spring has finally arrived here in Southern Ontario, Canada and it was a long time coming this year.
Parker was such a surprise to me. I always had the impression that he was kind of a thug, but a bookseller in San Fransisco recommended them to me. He said his character is much more interesting than that, and he was so right!
I love all of these - except I'd never heard of Lane Winslow. I just looked her up - and she's the detective in a book I brought home from Malice and haven't read yet!

I was so excited to see that she's the Lifetime Achievement guest next year!
I'm OBSESSED with Mrs. Pollifax. Love to see this list!

I'm so glad you loved her! I'm thoroughly enjoying my re-read. :-) I'm on Mrs. Pollifax and the Golden Triangle right now.

Happy spring!
I love the Mrs Pollifax series,,,,, found them years ago and went thru them all!
also forgot about Parker,,,,,,will have to read some of his again too!

I really like PD James's detective Adam Dalgleish. Ruth Rendell's Wexford and Dorothy Sayer's Lord Peter Wimsy are also top notch.
Three classic detectives that I've never read!
Thanks for your Happy Things :)
Other detecting: Gamache! Lane Winslow! Maisie Dobbs! Daisy Dalrymple! Thursday Murder club (does that count?) Ian Rutledge! Bess Crawford!
