Happy December!
I can’t believe it’s the last month of the year. 😢
You all voted for the adorable lemur for this month’s wallpaper. Here’s how you can get that cutie. . .
If you want the wallpaper (with or without the November calendar) it’s free! You can get it here. There’s also a tall option, better for phones.
If you want the applique pattern you can get that here.
If you want the printable art (including a PNG with a transparent background) you can get that here. There’s a tutorial here showing how to use printable files to make cute greeting cards.
If you’re a paid subscriber DO NOT buy the printable files. They’re your free download this week! 🎉 Keep scrolling until you get the the section called The Download. That’s where you’ll find the links you need. 🥰
Time to start working on the January calendar!
Zulima Zebra and Frasier Frog are two of my most popular patterns, but I’ve never used the zebra on the calendar and I used the frog YEARS ago - way before I developed the cut-paper style I’ve been using.
I can’t wait to see what you choose!
I’m getting ready to make samples for the X-Ray Tetra/Goldfish/Fish Skeleton block and expect the pattern to be ready next week.
I’m super excited about this one! You’ll be able to use the X-Ray Tetra version for ABC quilts. The fish without the visible skeleton can be added to the Fish quilt pattern. Depending on the colors used you can make an ocean fish or a river fish - or a fish tank fish! And the skeleton on its own will be a fun addition to a Cuddly Cats quilt!
I’m also sketching for a Yak quilt. I think I may design this as an update to the Billy Bison and Mo Muskox patterns. I’m trying to see if I can create a single pattern that will work for a Muskox, Ox, Yak and Bison by choosing different horns and rearranging some of the parts a bit. 🤞🏻
Here’s your weekly dose of awesomeness from the Shiny Happy People group!
I love this quilt that Fran made with the Mix & Match Monsters pattern!
She used my very favorite optional setting for it - Wonky Squares with Faux Sashing. There’s a post explaining how to do that here. You can do it with any of my patterns!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more wonderfulness people are making with my patterns—and to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. It’s my favorite place on the internet.
In an effort to make this newsletter short enough to go through most email providers without getting chopped off, I’ve broken out some favorite pieces to give them their own days.
Wednesday is for inspiration - favorite artists, books, recipes, and more. In last week’s Five Happy Things - Novels for People Who Love to Eat, this got the most clicks. There are also some great suggestions in the comments. I’ve already added a couple of them to my To Be Read pile!
Friday is for oldies but goodies from the archives. Last week this post got the most clicks. Is everyone already in a get-organized-for-the-new-year mood?
And last Monday, this free pattern got the most clicks by a HUGE margin! Yay! I can’t wait to see what you make with it!
You can always change which newsletters you receive by clicking this link. In the Notifications section, choose which mailings you do and don’t want. Easy peasy!
As I mentioned above, the download this week is a set of printables for the new lemur.
If you don’t want to pay for Everything Under the Sun access ($5 per month or $50 per year), you can purchase the printables here. Easy peasy! 🥰 Have fun with them!
That’s the end of the newsletter for free subscribers. Thanks so much for reading - and I hope you have a fabulous week!
