Hello, friends!
I’m interrupting my regular newsletter schedule because I have two big things to share - and one of them is time-sensitive.
First, the time-sensitive thing.
Spoonflower is having a big Memorial Day Sale that doesn’t end until midnight tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
Fabric is 25% off.
Wallpaper is 30% off.
Home decor is up to 25% off. (Not sure exactly what that means, but there it is.)
If you want to stock up on blenders, get a set of color-coordinated background blocks with the quilting lines printed right on the fabric, or try a cheater quilt - now is a great time to buy.
Here’s one of my favorite cheater quilt fabrics used as a duvet cover, because my computer is showing almost a full screen of text without a photo and that makes me twitchy.
Whew! Now I can write words again. 😂
You can find my Spoonflower fabric shop here, buuuuuut. . .
Do you sometimes find it overwhelming to shop on Spoonflower?
Me too!
That’s why I created the fabric section of my own shop to help. You can shop by color, by color collection, by design, or by theme. You can also shop just the cheater fabrics.
When you find a fabric you like, open up the How to Order tab below the description. That’s where I share exactly what fabric base I like to use, and how I shop for my own quilt-making, including how I use Spoonflower’s nifty Fill-a-Yard feature. Then click the link to take you to exactly that listing on Spoonflower where the sale is happening.
So that’s the time-sensitive thing. The sale ends tomorrow at midnight.
Now there’s the long-time-coming thing.
I have a new pattern!
I finally finished a big batch o’ patterns and got their copyrights registered so I can - at long last - start listing them in the shop.
I started with Sherry Sheep.
Isn’t she a cutie?
I’m weirdly in love with this all-grey sample. (Weird for me because I usually gravitate towards bright colors.) But I’m not sure it’s the best image to use as the cover in the shop. Maybe she looks drab next to the others? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So now I’m throwing it out to the hive mind. What do you think?
I think it’s going to be a toss-up between the yellow and the grey, but you all often surprise me!
And what about the weird magenta sheep? And why did I put her on a red background?
Well, I was making a sample for the Lunar Zodiac bundle I had planned to release in January! (ha ha ha ha ha)
I made all these animals in fun bright colors from the Gemstones color collection, and they’re all on Red blender backgrounds for good luck. 🎉
Now that the sheep pattern is finished, I can finally (very belatedly) release the whole discounted bundle. Want all these animals for 40% off? Get the bundle here. You can have it made in time for the next Lunar New Year and we can pretend that was my plan all along. 😂
A word about bundles.
I’m releasing my patterns a few different ways, with a range of choice and discount amount.
You can get an individual block pattern for just $4.99. That one pattern has everything you need to make an entire quilt, like this beauty that Brenda made with the Cassidy Cow pattern.
You really only need one block pattern to make a fabulous quilt!
(Someone please make a Horse of a Different Color quilt with the Harrison Horse pattern in rainbow colors!)
But sometimes (ok, a lot of times) you want to include more than one animal. You can always bundle blocks together for a discount.
If you want to pick the animals, you can get a 20% discount by buying 5 blocks at a time. The discount is automatic - you don’t need to enter a coupon code or anything. It’s magic.
If you want a bigger discount (40% off!) you can let me choose the animals. Use the bigger bundles I put together. Right now there are only three of these more heavily discounted bundles in the shop. . .
But lots more are coming! I expect to have a Farm Bundle ready by the regular June 1 newsletter, and lots more are coming after that. I’m super close to having all the blocks I need for a Rainforest Bundle, an Arctic Bundle, a Pond Life Bundle, and more.
Ok! I’ll be back tomorrow with the regular Five Happy Things mailing, and there will be another new pattern (a llama/alpaca!) and another new bundle (Farm Animals!) in the regular June 1 email on Sunday.
Thanks so much for reading - and I hope you have a fabulous week!
Happy stitching!
Best,
Wendi
🥰
You are absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for all that you do and everything that you share.
