The mustelids are here!
And they have names!
(My favorite is Fidget the Ferret.) š
This is a single block pattern (with an optional mask piece for making ferrets and polecats) but Iām listing it under each animal in my shop.
THEY ARE ALL THE SAME PATTERN!
Iām just listing them each way because my shop is alphabetical and nobody is searching for āmustelids.ā This way youāll find the pattern whether youāre looking for an ermine, a weasel, or a ferret. š„°
Shop here. And have fun with it!
Speaking of fun. . .
My local bookstore just launched their summer reading program and it brought back a HUGE flood of happy memories. Back when I was a bookseller I designed and ran our summer reading program for kids every year and I loved it - so I created a Summer Reading Bingo Board for all of us!
Download a printable copy here.
Just like the programs for kids that I used to organize, my goal isnāt to make a list of specific books everyone has to read. Whereās the fun in that? Instead itās a reminder that youāre never too old for picture books. Itās an invitation to a little armchair traveling. Itās a nudge to ask a friend for a recommendation. Have fun with it!
Will there be prizes? I donāt know - maybe? Mostly I just thought of this as a fun way to do some slightly-structured reading and share a bunch of book recommendations with each other. š„°
To that end - as soon as I hit send on this newsletter Iām going to create a chat where we can all talk. Iāve never done a chat on Substack before, but if Iām understanding everything properly, when I create that chat, everyone will get an email with a link to it so you can participate. You will NOT get a notification every time someone contributes.
(At least I hope thatās the case, because gosh that would be annoying.)
If you want to make sure you do (or donāt) get that notification about a new chat thread, check your settings here. Under Notifications thereās an option to toggle New Chat Threads on or off.
Iām hoping for lots of fun book talk!
Awesomeness from the Shiny Happy People group!
This is Lindaās first time making this kind of quilt - and I love the sweet result! I also love that sheās already jumping in to experimenting with different fabrics like that gorgeous glittery crown! Take a look and leave a comment here!
Look at the sweet teddy that Birgit made with the Bailey Bear pattern! I love all the different fabric textures she used!
Sid made a beautiful elephant quilt and softie for a new baby girl! The adorable fleecy stuffed elephant is made with the Napoleon and Josephine pattern - and you must click through to the original post to see the rest of the lovely details on the quilt made with the Elephant Parade pattern!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more wonderfulness people are making with my patternsāand to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. Itās my favorite place on the internet!
The archives and sale now have their own newsletter every Friday. Last week this link got clicked twice as much as any of the others. I canāt wait to see how you all use this extra fun technique in your quilts!
If you know someone whoād like to read this newsletter, please share! š„°
Happy stitching!
I hope you have a fabulous week!
Best,
Wendi
