New Double Quilt Pattern - Corn and Carrots!
Plus - So Many Silly Chickens!
Hello, friends!
I’ve got bad news and good news.
The bad news is that my sewing machine seized up and I will be without it for FOUR WEEKS!
😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭
The good news is that there’s a new pattern today - and I’m in the middle of updating several more embroidery patterns, and those don’t need a machine. Perfect timing!
Here’s the new applique pattern.
It’s actually two half-block patterns!
I ADORE half-block patterns because I really love the look you get when you break up a standard grid.
Here’s an example I mocked up showing the corn and carrots (and also a bunch of animal sounds made with the free ABC applique pattern) added to the critters in the Farm Bundle.
Fun!!!
You don’t need a bunch of patterns to play with these veggies. Do you already have Brette Bunny?
Make a bunny quilt with carrots!
Do you already have Riley Raccoon? Make a raccoon quilt with corn!
Back when I had a garden, I grew corn one year. EVERY time I had an ear that looked just about ready to pick, the local raccoons would come in and grab it before I did. Little bandits. 🦝
You can do this layout with ANY of my quilt patterns. There’s a free guide here with yardage, cutting instructions, and layout templates for six different sizes from Itty Bitty Baby to King.
Have fun with the new pattern! I can’t wait to see what you make with it!
Look at the the fun quilt that Mary made with the Silly Chickens Mix & Match Pattern!
And now look at the fun reading pillow she made with it!
Ha ha ha! I love how she stuck the chicken legs on her own egg pattern! I should totally have included an egg template - and I will when I update it. 🥰
Here’s what she wrote about the pair. . .
I think the personalities in your creations are so much fun. I made the Silly Chickens quilt last October for a school fundraiser. I added a fun book, titled Woo Hoo! You Are Doing Great! written by Sandra Boynton. I also added a book pillow. The bundle sold for $300. The person who had the winning bid said they never saw so many expressions on chickens. What fun!
What fun indeed! I love this!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more wonderfulness people are making with my patterns—and to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. It’s my favorite place on the internet!
Thanks so much for reading! Have a fabulous week!
Happy stitching!
Best,
Wendi
🥰

I took my Mom's sewing machine with me when I got married because she didn't use it much. Even when we got a new one, I kept it for a long, long time just on the off chance something happened to the new one - and I don't at ALL sew like you do. I am sending good vibes to your machine as you miss it!
