Happy New Year! A Sweet Zebra on Your Free January Wallpaper
Plus - a beautiful Project Linus quilt
Happy New Year! A little early. 🙂
I hope you had a Happy Solstice! A Merry Christmas! Or are still having a Happy Hanukkah!
I had an. . . eventful week off. More on that below, but first - that zebra!
You all voted for the sweet zebra for this month’s wallpaper. Here’s how you can get that cutie. . .
If you want the wallpaper (with or without the January calendar) it’s free! You can get it here. There’s also a tall option, better for phones.
If you want the applique pattern you can get that here.
If you want the printable art (including a PNG with a transparent background) you can get that here. There’s a tutorial here showing how to use printable files to make cute greeting cards.
If you’re a paid subscriber DO NOT buy the printable files. They’re your free download this week! 🎉 Keep scrolling until you get the the section called The Download. That’s where you’ll find the links you need. 🥰
This Christmas Santa brought us water damage!
Behind that pretty purple wall is the room holding the water heaters for our building. On the morning we were leaving for the Oregon coast, one of the heaters sprang a leak and sprayed water all over the wall, which ran down and soaked our floor, and flowed into the walls of our downstairs neighbors.
We caught it quickly, so the damaged area wasn’t large, but those floors are over twenty years old and they don’t make them anymore, which means our entire floor needs to be replaced. 😢
That means we’re going to need to jam everything we own into our bedroom and office/studio for 1-2 weeks, sometime in late January or February. I usually go into the new year with such a clear plan, but this year I’m starting off with one giant Who knows?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m going to try to get the yak/muskox/bison/highland cow pattern finished by next Monday, but after that it’s a giant question mark.
Here’s your weekly dose of awesomeness from the Shiny Happy People group!
I love this fabulous quilt that Linda made! She used a mix of free patterns, individual block patterns, and single blocks pulled out of multi-block patterns - plus a bunch of Fancy Doodads to accessorize. The result is a quilt full of joy and she donated it to Project Linus!!!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more wonderfulness people are making with my patterns—and to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. It’s my favorite place on the internet.
As I mentioned above, the download this week is a set of printables for the new zebra.
If you don’t want to pay for Everything Under the Sun access ($5 per month or $50 per year), you can purchase the printables here. Easy peasy! 🥰 Have fun with them!
That’s the end of the newsletter for free subscribers. Thanks so much for reading - and I hope you have a fabulous week!
