Today I’m sharing a random collection of things for folks who love books. Enjoy!
I love this fun I’d Rather Be Reading design from Snippets of Whimsy. They could put that on my tombstone - but I’d like it in these bright colors and this lettering, please. 🥰
This post about How to Read Like an Artist by Austin Kleon is terrific. My favorites are #1, #5, and (obviously) #10.
These bricks painted to look like books are brilliant!
Ditto all the embroidered books by @journallyours. I mean, look at the embroidered tabs on this bee journal! And this beautiful recipe book! Seriously, just grab a cup of tea and scroll through her whole feed. It’s all lovely.
I’m completely in love with the deep dives that Jon Klassen and Mac Barnett do over at Looking at Picture Books. These are such fascinating, in-depth discussions about picture books from two writers and illustrators who know what they’re talking about! Here’s one about Where the Wild Things Are (one of my favorites). Then move on to this one about Goodnight Moon, and this one about Go, Dog. Go! Then just hop to their table of contents and read them all. These are not quick reads. They go through every single page of each book, talking about how it works. Absolutely engrossing. I save this posts for when I have the time to really savor them.
Enjoy!
Best,
Wendi
