These artists do absolutely AMAZING things with paper. Grab a cup of tea - a few of these are mesmerizing videos. ☕️ 😍
Frédéric Guibrunet and Sophie Mouton-Perrat make some of the most beautiful paper mache I’ve ever seen! Click through for more examples and a short video - plus a link to their website. (The video is in French, so I couldn’t understand it, but I loved seeing their studio!)
Take a look at these really cool masks made of recycled cardboard by Oscar Wilder. He makes all kinds of really interesting interactive art, and his Instagram feed has lots of videos showing them in action.
It was almost impossible to choose just one image to show you from Julien Vantal on Instagram. He makes gorgeous sculptures out of old book pages. Look how beautiful those jellyfish are! And this beetle uses the best placement of some old illustrations. Just click through to see the whole feed. They are magnificent!
Back when I worked at Penland School of Crafts, we’d sometimes make paper with groups of kids. It’s so much fun! This video shows how they made that confetti paper in the photo. They used a huge tub of scraps of quilting fabric! Watching them stir together a rainbow of itty bitty snips of fabric was lovely. I wanted to get my hands in there! Click through to the whole feed to see lots of beautiful handmade paper.
I adore cut-paper art, and watching this piece come together was utterly mesmerizing. Watch the video here, and see their whole feed here. So many itty bitty pieces!

In an effort to have fewer email providers chop my emails in half because they’re so dang long, I’ve moved my inspirations (book recommendations, favorite recipes, and awesome artists) to their own newsletter every Wednesday. Think of it as a quick way to fill your cup in the middle of the week. 🥰
If you’d rather not receive these Wednesday emails you can turn them off and still receive the regular monthly news and Friday archives.

These posts!!! I cannot TELL YOU how much I do not need another creative hobby just this minute, but those lamps!!! I suddenly have the wildest urge to make luminaries out of papier-mâché, and so I'm just adding it to my ever-lengthening list of things I really don't know how to do but am going to try anyway. These are amazing - thank you as always for sharing the sparks of joy you find in the world.
Oh❣️. I watched the paper making with fabric pieces. Perfect timing - my new granddaughter in-law is an artist. I will make paper from the scraps of the fabric from the wedding quilt I made for her. PERFECT! Thank you
