Rabbit! Rabbit!
Happy April!
Today’s news is coming to you from somewhere between Asheville, NC and Portland, OR. We’re on the move! 🎉
That means this newsletter will be on the short side, but it’s full of cuteness!
Let’s start with that sweet bunny. It’s the featured critter in the free wallpaper for April. 🙂
You can get your wallpaper tall or wide (so it fits on all your devices) and you can get it without or without the April calendar (so you can use it other months, too).
I’ve designed a bunch of bunnies in my time, but this little one is brand new. We were almost done packing when the movers called and told us they’d be picking up four days later than planned. We had already packed all our books and games and the kitchen and all my craft supplies. So. . . bonus time for sitting on the couch drawing? I can’t complain when the result is so cute. 🙂
(Paid subscribers get a printable version of that sweet bunny in four different sizes, plus a PNG with a transparent background so you can drop in any background you like. You can upgrade to paid and find those downloadable files - plus other past goodies - in the archives.)
A new month also means a new pattern in the Funny Faces Quilt Block of the Month Club.
This month it’s a handsome gorilla!
I LOVE gorillas - they’re my favorite apes! This block will be a great addition to any Safari quilts you’re making.
If you’re in the club, you should have already received a link to download your pattern.
If you’re not in the club yet, join now! It’s just $4 a month - and you can get the first month free by using the discount code SILLY when you check out.
Members get a brand new, exclusive pattern on the first of every month!
As always, I made samples in three different colors.
I wish now I had made one with a midnight blue gorilla. If someone does that, please share!
One more new thing this week. . .
The Olson Otter pattern is new in the shop.
Get it here.
Those waves are a free pattern. Download them here and use them with lots of different animals - the Greedy Seagulls, the Hippo, the Japanese Macaque, and many more.
Take a look at the terrific otter cushion that Felicitas made!
Wait! How did she make that already? Wasn’t the pattern just released today?
The otter started out as a Funny Faces Club exclusive and Felicitas is a club member who was kind enough to post a photo in her review of the pattern. Didn’t she do an awesome job? I love the fabrics she chose!
Head over to the Shiny Happy People group on Facebook to see lots more fabulousness people are making with my patterns—and to ask questions and share photos of your own projects. It’s my favorite place on the internet!
If you know someone who’d like to read this, please share! 🥰
Happy stitching!
I hope you have a fabulous week!
Best,
Wendi
🥰
PS - I know Easter is over, but bunnies have no season. ❤️ 🐰 ❤️ Look at these adorable bunny portraits made with egg cartons! They remind me that I’ve been wanting to design some cute, wonky frames for my faces, but haven’t quite figured out the best way to do it yet. YET!
I hope you will post some thoughts and/or pics and/or patterns :-) from your cross-country journey.
