The heart and soul of Shiny Happy World is in the archives. There are hundreds of free patterns and tutorials and it’s easy to be overwhelmed by all the information. Every Friday I share just a manageable sliver - a peek at what was happening during the same week of every year since the start of Shiny Happy World. This is Week 14.
If you’d rather not receive these Friday emails you can turn them off and still receive the regular Monday news.

Easy peasy!
This is a free post, with links to many free tutorials and patterns. If you know someone who’d like to read it, please share! 🥰
The archives are almost all free - but sometimes I released a new pattern in the shop during that week in history. All those patterns are on sale this week!
Shiny Happy World has been around for a LOT of years now. That’s a lot of photos - possibly too many for your email provider to handle. If they chop off the end of the post, look for a link at the bottom where it will say something like “View Entire Message.” Depending on your email provider, it might just be a cryptic set of three dots. Click there to see the rest. 🙂

It’s easier than you think, and makes an exceptionally cuddly stuffed animal.

This is a great way to try out my patterns (grab a free one!) to see if you like them and the methods I use.
2014
My most popular free pattern. I designed this one especially for charitable giving, so it has lots of mix & match options to play around with and make each bear different.

An adorable little bunny with beanbag filling.

I always make my quilt blocks a little bigger than they need to be, then I crop them to size right before I sew them all together. I love having that extra wiggle room to make mistakes!
2017
Sometimes the eyes are just too small to applique easily. One option is fabric paint and markers. I tested lots of different brands and share the results here.

Get extra use out of your favorite felt Christmas ornament pattern by making a garland.

A cute monster with warty little picot bumps - and a pocket mouth!

Seems like this free pattern would be more appropriate for New Years than April, right? Well - I started it in week one and finished it in week 14. 😂
2021
Sometimes it's so much fun to make the same little thing over and over in rainbow colors. 🥰

I don't sell this fabric bundle anymore, but I do share tips for choosing colors for dolls and people - including a list of suggested Kona Cotton colors to use.
2023
It's not one of my bestselling fabric designs, but it's one of my favorites. 🥰
Have a terrific weekend!

Wendi,
Thank you so much for the Warren Bear pattern! It was a life saver when I was trying to teach my middle school students to hand sew via zoom during the pandemic. Somehow I stumbled across your website. Warren Bear has now become an annual tradition for my 6th grade students. We make it slightly smaller so each body piece easily fits on a piece of craft felt. We make it entirely hand sewn and entirely of felt. It is fun to watch students' creativity. They add ties, top hats, capes, flower crowns, Nike swishes, U of O "O's" etc. And I use some of your videos to teach basic skills as well. AND yesterday I noticed one of my students reading a book by your husband. I commented and suddenly half a dozen students were raving about Alan Gratz and his books. I told them his connection to you and MINDS BLOWN!! You both have fans in Sherwood, Oregon!! What will they say when I tell them you are moving to the area? Thanks for everything! Tami C
